Finance Manager (part time)

Are you a part qualified accountant? Are you looking for your next challenge? Come and join The SU as our Finance Manager! In this rewarding and fulfilling role you will be accountable for the provision of an effective and efficient finance operation, acting as the primary source of advice for staff, officers and students on budgets and day-to-day financial matters whilst supporting the Head of Finance in delivering the strategic aims of the organisation. 

You will join a busy team which is at the heart of The SU and will be able to take advantage of our fun working environment and flexibility to enable your work-life balance. In this role you will:

  • manage the day-to-day financial operations of The SU.  
  • produce timely and accurate management information for budget holders;
  • act as finance lead on events and a range of projects;
  • provide expert knowledge of fundraising and grants support;
  • manage front desk team of Finance Assistants; 
  • oversee production and delivery of training materials and sessions;
  • ensure finance policies and processes are followed throughout the organisation.

What you will need to succeed:

  • demonstrable experience in an accountancy or finance related role 
  • a can-do attitude
  • fantastic interpersonal skills. 
  • ability to able to thrive in a fast paced and ever-changing environment. 
  • excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. 
  • proven leadership experience
