In this central role within our friendly and fast-paced Development & Alumni Relations team, you will help us build on our fundraising success, capitalising on our philanthropic potential in a rapidly changing funding landscape. We are a nationally and internationally leading University ranked in the top five of the Guardian University Guide and regularly placed in the top 10 of other major UK league tables.

About the role:

Based within the Department of Development & Alumni Relations, you will be our lead on process management and financial oversight. Working closely with a range of departments across the organisation you will also support the Director and Deputy Directors on a range of activities from organising meetings to drafting reports and board papers.

As the department’s specialist on data protection and regulatory issues, you will also ensure our processes and protocols run as efficiently and effectively as possible. Collaborating with and managing the Finance Administrator & Department Coordinator will enable you to shape the future success of your role and the systems/processes we have in place.

About you:

Outstanding communication skills, attention to detail and an interest in supporting higher education and research will be key to your success along with a willingness to become fully involved in the life of the Department. Experience in higher education or fundraising setting is desirable, but not essential. You will have:

  • Experience of financial management, budget monitoring, analysis and reporting 
  • In-depth understanding of GDPR issues 
  • Significant experience of providing executive level administrative support and guidance and liaising at a senior level 
  • Experience of organising international travel and preparing detailed itineraries 
  • Skills in the use of University specific software (particularly Agresso and Raiser’s Edge) would be an advantage, but not essential
