The TeamBath gym is a unique environment aimed to target the student population, athletes and the general public. The Health & Fitness provision is currently undergoing a substantial expansion which will result in a new larger gym designed to cater for the growing membership base. In addition to the gym, two purpose built studios to hold in excess of 100 classes per week will be opened. 

The Department of Sports Development and Recreation at the University of Bath manages and organises a range of activities under the University’s sports brand - Team Bath.  The Department aspires to create a world leading multi-sport environment delivering to elite athletes, staff and students of the University and the local and regional community.  Based in the inspiring £35m Sports Training Village, the Department offers a wide range of high quality sports activities, programmes, events, services and facilities catering for all ages and abilities.

We are looking for a full-time Health & Fitness Instructor to be based within our inspirational gym.

The role involves conducting inductions, designing exercise programs and teaching classes to our various customer groups including students and members of the public. You will need to possess excellent communication skills with a genuine passion to help people get results. You will also need to hold a minimum level 2 gym instructor qualification. Qualifications in group exercise classes, or a desire to teach, would be an advantage.

The gym is open 7 days a week, however, for this role the shifts will be based on a 4 week rota including early, late and weekend shifts.

There is the added benefit of opportunities to teach additional classes and build a personal training base outside of these hours.
