Access and Participation Impact Officer (Projects)

At the University of Bath, we’re serious about widening access and participation, and we back it up with innovative evaluation and research. If you relish designing and delivering cross-university evaluation projects, then this is the role for you. Here, you'll transform raw insights into published findings that drive real change.

About us

You’ll join the Impact Team, led by our Head of Impact, which is at the forefront of ensuring high-quality evaluation and impact monitoring across the University. This dynamic group not only excels at data collection but is also renowned for its data analysis prowess. If you enjoy working in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment with colleagues who are as passionate about robust research as they are about a good cup of tea, you’re in the right place.

About the role

  • Innovative Research Design:
    – Deliver evaluation projects that span the entire university.
    – Utilise diverse research methods such as focus groups, interviews, and surveys to capture insights.
  • Project Delivery & Collaboration:
    – Support evaluation initiatives across various departments, ensuring a unified approach to evidence-based decision-making.
    – Work closely with academic teams and professional services to keep everyone in the loop.
  • Analysis & Publication:
    – Analyse your findings and support the write-up and publication of key results.
    – Turn complex data into clear, compelling insights that inform our strategic direction.

You should have:

  • a degree-level education (or equivalent) with a strong grasp of research and evaluation methodologies.
  • proven experience in designing and delivering research projects—even better if you’ve led focus groups or similar qualitative research.
  • proficiency in analysing qualitative and quantitative data (Excel, SPSS, NVivo – you know the drill).
  • excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate data into persuasive reports and presentations.
  • a proactive, collaborative approach with a creative streak that isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo.
