Department Coordinator

We are seeking a proficient and dedicated administrator to join the University of Bath’s Research and Impact Services (RIS) as our Department Coordinator.

Our Research and Impact Services (RIS) department supports the full research lifecycle – from funding applications and project delivery to knowledge exchange, impact, and commercialisation. As the Department Coordinator, you will work in an essential role at the heart of the department, providing support to enable pivotal work to take place.

This role will provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Research and Impact Services team and to the Director, contributing to the development and maintenance of operational processes and supporting key activities. You will ensure the smooth running of the office through duties including finance tasks, HR and induction support, maintaining office documentation and providing assistance to the Director of RIS.

About you

You will: 

  • be proficient in organising multiple tasks effectively and with precision and accuracy, ensuring a timely delivery.
  • display effective written and verbal communication skills, engaging confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
  • demonstrate a professional approach in handling confidential and sensitive information, employing tact, discretion, and respect.
  • be competent using Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint) and show a willingness to embrace new digital systems and platforms. 
  • Be proactive and able to work both within a team, and independently with minimal supervision.
