Salary:  Starting from £39,992, rising to £47,722
Placed On:  Thursday 22 February 2018
Closing Date:  Thursday 22 March 2018

The University of Bath is a nationally and internationally leading University ranked in the top five of the Guardian University Guide and regularly takes its place in the top 10 of other major UK league tables.  It was recently awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework and the University of Bath’s School of Management has multiple programmes ranked in the top ten in The Complete University Guide. The Department of Development & Alumni Relations plays a leading role in the University’s excellence through philanthropic support and partnerships.

The university is coming to the close of a £66 million campaign and is recruiting an ambitious and experienced individual to join the team as we finish the campaign and decide what’s next.

As a key part of the Major Gifts team, the post-holder will manage a portfolio of around 80 major gifts prospects, and will be responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of potential donors capable of supporting the university with five, six and seven figure gifts.

S/he will act as the departmental link with the School of Management and will work collaboratively with those colleagues as well as other faculties and offices to maximise gift potential from prospects who may have multiple associations and interests.

A successful candidate will have significant demonstrable success in major gifts, and bring with them a detailed knowledge and understanding of how to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts, as well as experience managing the philanthropic fundraising activity for a varied portfolio of projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding storyteller to make a significant contribution to Bath by raising substantial philanthropy and helping the team to develop a long-term strategy.

The post will be based at the University of Bath campus at Claverton Down overlooking the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath.
