A short-term MRC funded Research Technician position is available in the Structural Molecular Biology laboratory of Professor K. Ravi Acharya in the Department of Biology and Biochemistry for a period 7 months. The goal of the work involves expression and purification of proteins for structural work in the group. You will provide support in protein expression (using bacterial, insect and mammalian systems), purification and molecular biological techniques employed in the structural molecular biology laboratory. You will use a combination of approaches in protein biochemistry. The project would suit a motivated and committed scientist interested in using protein biochemistry/molecular and cell biology techniques.

You should possess degree in biochemistry/molecular/cell biology (at least 2.1 grade) and have demonstratable experience in protein biochemistry/molecular biology. (particularly in the expression and purification using different expression systems).
