The University is seeking to recruit to a new senior role which will focus on student experience, engagement and wellbeing.

Delivery of a positive student experience is the responsibility of many across the University, but we believe that the time is now right to invest in a senior role which will provide strategic oversight for student experience. We have an excellent record and came 4th in the last (2018) THE Student Experience Survey. Investment in this role reflects our determination to continue to lead in this area.

You will be a member of the University Executive Board and will have understanding and experience of student-centred matters, clearly demonstrating values which relate to the student experience. You will have an approachable manner, a positive and optimistic outlook and the ability to encourage, influence and persuade others in the pursuit of University objectives, and act as a true ambassador internally and externally. A collaborative and people-centric working style, with the ability to engage with people across the spectrum of responsibilities and experiences is essential.

We are advertising this role internally to enable a current member of staff to develop their career and make an enhanced contribution. It offers a significant opportunity for the right member of staff to contribute to delivery of University success at the highest level.

This position is expected based on 0.6 fte and as such, may be performed alongside other University roles. The position is initially being offered on a 3-year fixed-term basis, with the opportunity for extension, however, duties will be reviewed after 1 year.

For an informal conversation about the role please contact Peter Lambert, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Learning & Teaching), or any other member of the senior team who will be happy to discuss this role further.

Your application should include your CV and responses to the two selection criteria.
