The Students’ Union (SU) at the University of Bath is looking for an experienced manager to oversee and continue the development of a range of services which are key to the student experience.

You will be required to manage the SU’s independent advice & support service. The service provides information and support for students on academic, housing and personal matters. This can range from advising students on how to challenge academic decisions to supporting students in reporting harassment incidences. Where appropriate, the service also signposts students to relevant services in both the University and the local community. You will manage the advice team, ensuring the provision of high quality advice, as well as providing direct support to students when required.

The other area the post oversees is the work of the SU Community Co-ordinator, who works with students living on and off campus in University accommodation, and who also run community building events and trips.

You will also be responsible for supporting student-led diversity and support groups, as well as providing the lead on inclusivity, diversity and equality throughout the SU.

You will have a background and relevant experience in advice work including the management of an advice service. You must have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and be able to communicate on all levels. You will have experience of managing a team of staff and volunteers. You will have knowledge of the Students’ Union’s cause mission and values, and will have knowledge of HE academic and welfare issues.
