The University of Bath has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Category Manager to join our busy Procurement team at the University.

The Procurement team directly supports the University in achieving its aim to deliver excellence in research and education. It does this through ensuring value for money is achieved on all third party expenditure through applying best practice procurement techniques.

The role of Procurement category Manager will involve the management of all expenditure (non-capital) associated with the maintenance of the University estate. This will be achieved by working closely with the University’s Estates Department to ensure compliance with the relevant procurement legislation, manage the associated risks, and optimise the opportunities to realise benefits.

To succeed in this role you will have excellent relationship building skills, experience of working in a public sector procurement role, and be fully qualified by the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply. Experience of procuring from the soft facilities management and construction markets would be an advantage.

The role is offered on a full time (1FTE) 9 month fixed term contract to provide cover for maternity leave within the team. The desired start date is October 14th.

Applications should be submitted via the University of Bath jobs website. For an informal discussion please contact Tony Brett, Head of Procurement on 01225 386750 (t.brett@bath.ac.uk), or Greg Derrick, Deputy Head of Procurement on 01225 386378 (gd329@bath.ac.uk).
