The Natural Sciences programme recruits strong students who are keen to have a broad education both within different scientific disciplines and at their interface. Currently, the programmes offered provide opportunities for students to select units from different departments, including those external to the Faculty, and the majority of student programmes involve two academic disciplines. For more details please see

The role of Admissions tutor is crucially important for Natural Sciences to ensure that we remain competitive and continue to recruit high quality students. This position provides opportunities to inspire students to consider studying in Bath and, in many cases, to study Natural Sciences (a ‘hidden science’ to many students particularly those studying A levels in the UK).

At its heart, this role involve the day-to-day management oversight of undergraduate admissions. This includes organisation of Open Days and Applicant Visit Days working alongside the department co-ordinator. It also involves taking the lead on proposals for changes to entry qualifications and for working with both central Admissions and Faculty Marketing to ensure that our programmes are appealing and well promoted.

The role is designated 300 hours in the WAMS workload model.

You should be keen to work as a key team member within Natural Sciences as well as liaising with colleagues from other academic departments and professional services and they will be committed to interdisciplinary science education.

We are seeking to recruit to this post from February 2020 for a period of 3 years (renewable).

Applications should provide an outline of your relevant experience for the role (max 250 words) and your aspirations for the role (max 250 words).

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Dr Jane White (k.a.j.white@bath.ac.uk), Head of Natural Sciences.
