In this pivotal role you will help shape the future success of our University. Taking the strategic lead on our Programme Portfolio and PMO you will ensure we realise the potential of our pioneering change programmes. Through a clear vision and inspirational leadership you will work closely with and advise our Executive Board on all aspects of organisational change.

About the role:

You will bring your strategic PMO expertise and work collaboratively across the organisation to embed behavioural and system change. With experience across multiple project frameworks you will develop standards and governance frameworks, applying a pragmatic, fit for purpose approach.

Leading the PMO function, you will be responsible for developing its structure and resourcing it accordingly. Establishing a portfolio management process, you set our direction of progress with the Vice-Chancellor, Chief Operating Officer, and the wider leadership team, agreeing approaches and priorities.

About you:

As an experienced people leader, you will have led a broad portfolio of change in a complex organisation and able to apply a range of change and programme management techniques. Experience of Higher Education isn't essential, but an understanding of our ethos and culture will be beneficial. You will also have:

  • The ability to communicate and engage at all levels of an organisation and be comfortable providing data-led assurance at Board level.
  • The curiosity and agility to be successful across multiple levels to achieve change.
  • Experience of leading a large programme team, consultancy unit, internal consultancy, or a project specialist unit in public or private sector.
  • Under Graduate degree or equivalent experience
  • MBA or Professional Management Qualification
  • Programme & Project Management Qualifications
