The Department of Education is a thriving and expanding department with an international reputation for teaching and research that develops theory, policy and practice. The department offers one undergraduate programme (Education with Psychology) as well as a range of postgraduate taught programmes (full-time MA TESOL, full-time MA International Education and Globalisation, full-time Master of Research and part-time MA Education), and postgraduate research programmes (the MPhil, PhD and Doctor of Education (EdD)).

We are seeking a permanent part time teaching fellow (0.2 FTE) to take responsibility for teaching and assessing two science education units offered to third year undergraduate students (mostly science) as part of the University's generally available units programme.  These are students who may have an interest in pursuing a career in science teaching.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, up to date and experienced secondary school science teacher with a first degree in a science-related discipline and Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent. You will have a sound understanding of the theory and research underpinning the principles and practice of science education and a keen interest in current issues in teaching and learning science.

This post is permanent part-time (0.2 FTE) for 10 months, from 1 September to 30 June each year. However this post will have a expected start date of January 2020. Working hours are 7.30 per week on a Wednesday.

If you would like to discuss this post please contact the Deputy Head of Department Elisabeth Barratt Hacking on edsecbh@bath.ac.uk or +441225386768.
