The Institute of Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems (IAAPS) at the University of Bath is recruiting a Research Associate to undertake research work for High Performance Electric Compressor (HiComp2) project.

This project is looking into the modelling and testing of high performance electric compressor on a bus. This is a joint project with several industry partners. The Research Associate will be expected to directly contribute to the delivery of the project work packages.

IAAPS is a leading centre for theoretical, experimental and analytical research into powertrain systems in the UK. IAAPS has an excellent track record in delivering industry-relevant projects, and has long established collaborations with industrial partners. The Centre considers its remit to be all of the links in the chain from energy storage to its conversion into mechanical work on board a vehicle.

Applicants should possess a PhD in subject area of direct relevance for the project, or have equivalent significant research experience and professional qualification. Applicants must have experience of turbomachinery parametric design optimisation using CFD coupled to algorithms in Matlab. Experience of delivery and involvement in major collaborative research programmes would also be highly beneficial. Candidates should be self-motivated and possess project management and technical communication skills. Please refer to Job Description for detailed requirement.

This position is full time (36.5 hours per week) and is being offered on a fixed term contract basis with an expected expiry date of 31 July 2021.
