The Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering wishes to appoint an outstanding and inspirational academic in civil engineering. This is fixed term position (with an anticipated end date of 15 August 2021). The post holder is expected to contribute to lecture, tutorial and laboratory based teaching and assessment of academic programmes, primarily at undergraduate level. Lecturing is likely to be largely on-line delivery but with additional support via face-to-face activities. In particular the post-holder will contribute to the full time Undergraduate programmes in Civil Engineering and Civil & Architectural Engineering covering teaching duties which are likely to include, but not limited to:

  • Civil Engineering Hydraulics
  • Engineering Surveying 
  • Surveying and Geology Field Course 
  • Infrastructure Design Project

The post-holder will also be expected to engage in administrative tasks within the Department including:

  • Supervision of undergraduate research dissertations 
  • Supporting engineering students on placement
  • Running University Open Days and Applicant Visit Days
  • Acting as Personal Tutor to undergraduate students
  • Supporting online delivery activities
  • Supporting tutorial activities
