Are you looking for an opportunity to help train the leaders of tomorrow and champion research that takes on global challenges?
Named the 2023 University of the Year by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide, the University of Bath is one of the most innovative and high performing Universities in the UK.
About the role:
The University is seeking to appoint an exceptional Director of Philanthropy to lead the Philanthropy Team within the department of Development and Alumni Relations. The team is currently on a significant growth path, and this will be a career-defining role for the right individual.
As a member of the newly formed Development and Alumni Relations Leadership team, the Director will lead by example to direct a team who will focus on attracting major and transformational gifts from individuals, companies, charitable trusts and other philanthropic sources.
You will work closely with internal senior stakeholders, including the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor and senior academics and will deputise for the Director of Advancement.
Externally, you will provide a highly proactive and energetic approach to philanthropy to build a personal portfolio of individual principal gift prospects. There will be an emphasis on inspiring new transformational donors, with the capacity for million-pound gifts, from outside the traditional pool of donors to the University.
You will also work with the Director of Development and Alumni Relations to write a philanthropy strategy which will be closely aligned to the University’s priorities, and oversee the implementation and delivery of the strategy by the Philanthropy Team.
About you:
We seek an accomplished leader who is an innovative thinker, with a robust track record in securing seven-figure gifts from a wide range of donors. You will be highly experienced in relationship management with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to operate at a senior level with ease.
If you are a powerful influencer, practised in operating at a strategic level and leading a high-achieving fundraising team within higher education or elsewhere in the charity sector, then we would very much like to hear from you.
