An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the University of Bath’s Landscape Team as a Sports Grounds Person ensuring optimum conditions for some of the country’s best sports people. 

About the role:

  • Carry out seasonal maintenance – mowing, fertilising, over seeding, topdressing, aeration and line marking of grass pitches for cricket, football, rugby etc
  • Maintain artificial sports surfaces such as sand/ water based astro and 3G pitches, acrylic and clay tennis courts and athletic running track
  • To use hand operated horticultural machinery, ride on mowers and trailed gang in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and ensure that all equipment is appropriately cleaned after use

This role is offered on a full time (36. 5 hours per week) permanent basis. 

About you:

  • NVQ or City and Guilds level 2 in Grounds Person ship or equivalent experience 
  • Experience in a similar role maintaining sports facilities
  • Valid Category B Driving License minimum of 1 year experience, i.e. 5000 miles (for insurance purposes) and to operate horticultural machinery

You will join the Landscape Team at one of the UK's top university's with a fantastic reputation for the beauty of its grounds and the quality of its sports pitches.

The team maintain the upkeep of the borders, grassed areas, woodlands, planting, preparation and upkeep of outdoor natural and artificial sports surfaces and other facilities for sports fixtures and recreational use.
