The Department for Health is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Teaching) in Research Methods in Sport and Exercise Science to cover a period of maternity leave. 

About the role: 

You will join a team of lecturers delivering a suite of units across our Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught degrees delivering content primarily to students studying BSc Sport & Exercise Science and MSc Sport & Exercise Science. 

Our teaching is primarily delivered face to face, supported by online content. We are looking for applicants with the expertise to teach topics the principles and processes of research methods and design as they relate to sport, health and exercise science. 

The role will include supervision of Masters’ level student projects, both on the MSc programme and for students on our distance learning programmes of Sports & Exercise Medicine and Sports Physiotherapy. 

This role is advertised on a full time basis with an expected end date of 31/05/2023.

Our ideal applicant will be able to: 

  • Plan and deliver taught programmes of education and support student learning at undergraduate and postgraduate level (as appropriate)
  • Play a key role in the developing the teaching culture and student experience of the University
  • Demonstrates depth and breadth of understanding of subject matters at a complex conceptual level
