This is a new exciting role that will give you an opportunity to understand how procurement keeps a world class University operating effectively and efficiently. 

You will support the Maintenance Buyer by:

  • Sourcing the products that the University Estate requires to function at its best
  • Maintaining appropriate volume and cost of carefully selected products
  • Ensuring that critical spares and bespoke items are acquired
  • Working closely with Finance & Procurement colleagues to manage risk and provide best value

About you:

  • Proven experience of working in a purchasing environment, preferably in building maintenance/ home improvement
  • Evidence of effective working with suppliers
  • Competent using IT, particularly databases 
  • Eager to learn
  • Keen attention to detail

No special qualifications are required, however an NVQ level 2 or equivalent in an administrative, finance or engineering related discipline would be an advantage. 

This role is offered on a full time or part time, fixed term basis with an expected duration of 12 months. Hours to be agreed with successful applicant. Minimum required amount of hours per week is 17.5 hours.
