STEM (Science) Communicator:  Internship or Paid Placement

The Widening Participation Office at the University of Bath is looking for an enthusiastic and flexible Science Communicator to work as part of the outreach team. The person appointed will have the opportunity to work as part of a team organising and delivering Science Outreach activities. These include university-based residential summer schools, curriculum enrichment days and tasters as well as school-based events with younger age groups utilising our mobile STEM Lab and the popular Bath Taps into Science Festival. Experience of working with young people on similar events and a commitment to widening participation and enthusing young people about Science are essential.

This post is open to recent Science graduates and to current students looking for a paid placement opportunity and would be suitable for those with experience of being a student ambassador or other forms of community or outreach activity.

This post will be full time (36.5 hours per week) and is being offered on a fixed term contract basis of 12 months in duration -commencing 1 September 2017.

The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
