This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a progressive Student Services team in delivering an integrated range of innovative, evidence-based services which are designed to provide high-quality pastoral care and enhance student resilience and wellbeing within the context of the University’s Education Strategy.

The Residential Life and Well-being Service provides welfare support, out-of-hours crisis response and health/wellbeing promotion over 365 days per year. The role includes operational management of the Wellbeing Advisor Team to ensure a consistent, coherent and multi-agency approach to case work, including complex cases and clients over a 365 day a year service. The role involves a mix of day and evening shift work.

You will have experience of managing a team in a service orientated environment to achieve high levels of performance and extensive experience of case management relating to clients with complex welfare and wellbeing issues including crisis management.  You will also have relevant welfare and well-being-related academic qualification, professional membership/registration in the areas of Social Work, Psychology, Youth Work, Probation or allied health professions; extensive experience of delivering pastoral care, welfare and well-being services; and effective communication and negotiating skills.

Student Services also includes Counselling & Mental Health, Disability and Funding Advice services. The post holder will contribute to the strategic development of the whole Department whilst working closely with other Professional Services, Academic Departments, the Students’ Union and community based agencies.

This post is full time (36.5 hours Mon-Sun, shifts between 9.00 and 22.20) and will require the post holder to work flexibly over the week with some on-call out of hours responsibilities, for which a reviewable on call allowance will be added to the final salary offer.
