Dexter and Jackson are twins, full of the cheekiness, humour and energy of any three year olds.  Jackson loves to express himself through movement and play.  Dexter has cerebral palsy and is unable to sit unaided or walk. He used to get frustrated that he couldn’t move around, especially when the family were are out and around other children having fun.

Dexter can now play freely with his brother, thanks to his Wizzybug powered wheelchair. He was only 18 months when he tried Wizzybug, his Mum wasn’t convinced he would be able to control it. But when he tried it he immediately grabbed the joystick and started moving all by himself. She said: I will never forget the first time Dexter tried Wizzybug - his little face lit up the moment he discovered he could take control and move around on his own - and still beams every time he gets in it!

At Designability we transform people’s lives through technology. Since the Charity was founded in 1968, more than 250,000 people have benefited from our products.
This is our 50th year and we have plans to increase the impact of our work. We have an ambitious product development programme and a passionate team of brilliant designers, engineers and therapists.  What’s missing is you.

You are the one with the track record of bringing products to market. Organising people and resources to bring multiple projects in on time and to budget. You will have engineering / design skills to contribute and you know how to get things done.

Do the products you work on make a real difference to people’s lives, do you get the same buzz from your work as you used to?  Perhaps being a part of something more meaningful can reignite that spark?

There are more real life stories of our work out there. We’d love to tell you about them.
