An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Bath to work with Professor Chris Bowen on a research project funded by the Leverhulme Trust on "pyroelectric water splitting and water treatment using ferroelectric materials".

The post holder will examine the influence of pyroelectric materials on electro-chemical systems, such as water splitting and water treatment. Research will be disseminated in international journal and key international conferences.  Visits to collaborators in the UK and abroad are expected. Applicants should have degree and PhD in a relevant discipline (materials, chemistry, physics) and a enthusiastic approach to multi-disciplinary research.  Applicants with skills in piezo- and pyro-electric materials, electro-chemical characterisation and the impact of electric fields on chemical reactions are preferred. 

This post is full time (36.5 hours per week) and is being offered on a fixed term contract basis of up to 2 years.
