The Department of Politics, Languages and International Studies (PoLIS) is undertaking a key recruitment drive in the field of Comparative Politics with a Senior Lecturer/Reader post. Successful candidates will contribute to one or more of the department’s areas of research expertise in Comparative Voting & Elections, Comparative Political Parties, British Politics and Political Contestation. The Department particularly welcomes applications from those with a strong background in quantitative methods, understood in terms of the ESRC’s Advanced Quantitative Methods. The Department also welcomes applications from candidates with either empirical or theoretical research focus.

This is a dynamic time of change in PoLIS. In recent years, the University of Bath has seen rapid growth as it has secured its place as a leading university in the UK. The department also offers some of the university’s most prestigious degree programmes, including undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Politics and International Relations, Languages and European Studies and Translation and Interpreting. PoLIS aims to deepen and enhance its research profile while maintaining its leading reputation in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
