About the role:

We are seeking a Governance Manager who has a passionate interest in good governance and providing high standards of service to senior stakeholders across the University of Bath. Within this pivotal role, you will ensure the flow of information and decisions which will enable the University to achieve its strategic objectives.

You will be responsible for setting the tone for a customer-focused, professional and efficient governance team, co-ordinating the work of the Committee Officers in providing secretariat support to Senate and Council committees. You will also provide support to the Head of Governance in their capacity as Secretary to Council and Senate. You will give advice and support to members of the Governance Team as well as providing advice to members of the wider university community including those in senior leadership roles.

About the team:

The Governance Team currently consists of seven members of staff and is led by the Head of Governance. The Governance Manager will report to the Head of Governance and will have line management of one member of administrative staff as well as mentoring, training, supporting and providing guidance to the committee officers. The team works with the senior management of the University including the Vice-Chancellor as well as the Chair of Council and Council members. The team prides itself on being friendly and inclusive, and has a strong commitment to providing the best possible service.
