This is an exciting position at an International University based in a City, which is a World Heritage Site, for any applicant that is looking to help and support students and staff within a Higher Education setting. The position covers the main University campus and potentially locations off site.

The post holder will assist the University community with public transport and other transport requirements. They will be required to assist in the loading and unloading of passengers on behalf of our bus service provider and ensuring the safety of all transport users. There be an additional requirement to assist with traffic control duties or parking enforcement but training and any relevant licensing will be provided. The post holder will be supported and managed by the University's Security Services Department.

The role is strongly customer focused and you must demonstrate an ability to perform well within a team and also be able to demonstrate the use of initiative while working alone when dealing with issues, including medical first aid response (for which training and certification will be provided).

The post holder is required to have excellent communication skills and be able to deal with a diverse International community, providing understanding, support and outstanding customer service.

You will be expected to be computer literate and able to operate a number of software packages both bespoke to the University as well as more general software, but training will be given as required. Also, the ability to operate hand held electronic devices and conduct urgent internet searching will be an advantage.

The role is on a 12-month fixed term basis and a basic working week is of 36.5 hours (Monday - Friday) and will be worked between 0800hr - 2200hr. There may be opportunities to work overtime and a requirement to work on occasional Saturdays, for major University events, but that will be compensated accordingly.   

The appointment will be made subject to an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) clearance being obtained.
