We have an exciting opportunity to work in our dynamic team as an Internal Communications Officer. 

The Department of Communications is looking for a highly skilled and motivated communications professional to help us ensure we are offering our diverse staff community timely, relevant information and engaging campaigns. Internal communications plays a vital role at the University, never more so than over the last 12 months, and it will continue to be key over the coming year.

We are looking for someone who combines passion and creativity with an eye for detail and ability to plan. You will have a proven track record in delivering effective communications within large, complex organisations. Experience of intranet development/procurement and change communications would be an advantage.

You will have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, and sound editorial experience. The ability to create compelling audio-visual content would be an advantage. You will be naturally curious with an interest in continually evaluating and improving the services you offer and a desire to seek out best practice.

The University is a welcoming campus-based community with more than 19,000 students and 3,500 staff. Our academic staff produce quality research that helps solve some of the biggest real world challenges we face and our support staff do everything from providing a friendly welcome to building turbine engines.

This role is available on a full time, fixed term basis of up to 12 months covering maternity.

About the Department

As a communications department we help to deliver the University's strategy through external and internal engagement. Our teams work on promoting the University's high impact research, education and innovation to key audiences across media and social media channels, as well as engaging our staff and students effectively with key developments and news.
