The Department for Health is seeking to appoint two fixed-term (maternity cover) Lecturers (Teaching) in Sport. The successful candidates will be expected to teach primarily on the BSc Sport Management & Coaching and the FdSc/BSc Sports Performance undergraduate programmes and supervise undergraduate research projects.

These courses attract bright and dynamic students through our strong reputation in sports-related research that informs our teaching, and the opportunity to study at a university renowned for promoting and facilitating sporting excellence; the University was named Sports University of the Year in 2018 and we are currently ranked joint 7th in the 2021 QS World Rankings for Sport-related subjects.

The successful applicants will join a team of lecturers delivering a suite of units across programmes, and will be expected to teach a range of sport related topics and have expertise in one or more of the following areas; sport coaching, sport development, sport management, sport policy, sport psychology, research methods in sport, and, sociology of sport. Successful applicants will be asked to take on other roles in teaching support such as personal tutoring, dissertation supervision, course development and other administrative activities as they arise.

These are fixed term positions of 9-months to cover periods of temporary absence, with a proposed start date of 06th September 2021.
