The University has a need for an interim Technology Transfer Manager (TTM) to cover maternity for up to 8-months. The TTM role will have a focus on Engineering and Physical sciences.

You will be part of a small Technology Transfer team that works closely with academics to create impact for the University of Bath through commercialising intellectual property (IP) and research outcomes. This includes identifying research to be protected and provide advice on IP and commercialisation matters to researchers at the University of Bath. 

As the TTM, you will build internal and external networks to identify and seek opportunities for commercialisation, protect IP, undertake market research, and negotiate suitable license agreements or manage spin-out company formation.

It is expected that the successful candidate will have a relevant degree and/or experience with commercialisation in a University or organisation and professional skills in building internal and external networks in relation to commercialisation of intellectual property.

Furthermore, you will need to have demonstrated success in project management including planning, resource allocation, communication, implementation, negotiation, evaluation and reporting. You may also have experience in negotiating commercial and legal arrangements.

You must have the ability to prioritise and handle multiple assignments, efficiently manage multiple requests for information and assistance, and to achieve various and conflicting project timescales.

Experience in the patenting process and working with legal agreements would be advantageous.
