We are looking for a keen, motivated individual with an excellent eye for detail to join the Doctoral College’s Recruitment Team. This team is responsible for administering all PhD and professional doctorate admissions and coordinating the numerous funding competitions associated with doctoral study. As part of our team you will play a vital role in providing efficient and effective support to those students who are considering undertaking postgraduate research at Bath.

About the Doctoral College

The Doctoral College supports and enriches the experience of doctoral researchers and plays a key role in developing policy and strategy for doctoral study. It also supports recruitment to doctoral study programmes, manages student and programme administration, provides professional skills development and helps students to feel supported, from enquiry through to graduation, wherever and however they choose to study.

About the role

This is a full-time role involving liaison with prospective doctoral students, members of academic staff, internal professional services representatives and some external agencies. In addition you will be required to support the coordination of student funding allocations, and to assist with wider postgraduate recruitment activities. You will also be expected to support other members of the Doctoral College team and provide assistance and guidance where necessary.

About you

You should be a highly organised individual with an eye for detail and experience of working in a busy environment, preferably involving admissions or student recruitment.  Attention to detail is very important as is the ability to manage a busy workload with conflicting priorities. You will need to work closely with other team members, academic colleagues and students from across the world, so excellent communication skills are highly important. You will be an excellent team player, able to work on own initiative, with a high degree of flexibility, and a quick learner. You should have excellent computer skills, with a proficiency in Word and Excel, and the ability to learn use of database systems. Knowledge/experience of Business Objects and/or SAMIS/SITS would be beneficial.

Please note that this post is offered on a fixed-term basis for two years.

The proposed start date for this role is 09 March 2020 although an earlier date may be possible.

The provisional interview date is the 13th of February 2020.
