The University of Bath’s Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences is recruiting a Placements Officer to work in a team which supports a large number of students each year in sectors as diverse as politics, social sciences, international development, finance, languages, psychology, sport and education across the UK, Europe and globally.

The Placements Officer will take responsibility for all aspects of placement provision in the field of Economics and potentially others, supporting the students prior to and during the placement and liaising directly with a wide variety of organisations across different sectors at a management level. This is a busy role so you will need excellent organisational and communication skills when dealing with students, academic colleagues and employers, along with diplomacy, tact and cultural awareness. The role can be highly rewarding, supporting the students throughout, and developing external relationships.

The Faculty is innovative in its administration and is keen for its team members to make continuous improvements in terms of efficiency and effectiveness and to address new challenges, share best practice and contribute to the overall success of the Faculty. This is a varied, interesting and important post within the Faculty’s placements team and we are seeking someone committed, enthusiastic and innovative to join us.

This is a full-time post working 36.5 hours per week.

We offer a competitive rate of pay, generous pension scheme, 26 days of annual leave per year, as well as eight bank holidays and five extra discretionary days.

About the Faculty:

As a Faculty, we embrace change and provide a supportive environment in which to develop and grow, offering ongoing professional development opportunities with a strong belief in the value of investing in our people and teams. We organise annual Faculty Away days, social events such as book and craft club and are always interested in new ideas. We also love to support our local community and charities through various fundraising events.
