We are seeking two enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to fill one full-time and one part-time (0.51 fte) temporary Information Librarian vacancy within the Academic Services section of the University of Bath Library. Both roles are expected to run to mid/end May 2021. Although supporting all areas of Academic Services work, the full-time post will be based primarily within the Library's Engineering & Design Faculty Subject Team and the part-time post within the Library’s Humanities & Social Sciences and Management team.

Applicants should have a CILIP accredited qualification in librarianship or information studies or equivalent, to at least degree level, or clear commitment to completion if not yet awarded.

As an Information Librarian you will be responsible for answering information and resource related enquiries from library users at all levels, through our online enquiry management service and by other means.  You will assist Faculty and Subject Librarians in preparing and delivering library induction and information skills teaching, primarily for online delivery over the period of appointment, and on occasion will design and deliver training sessions yourself.  In addition, you will support the Faculty and Subject Librarians in all areas of collection development, management and promotion, and will assist in preparation of library guidance, instructional and publicity materials, using a variety of formats and media.  You should be innovative and collaborative in your work, with excellent communication skills.

The successful applicants will join a dedicated, professional team of Library staff committed to the continual development of services to support the University’s strategy: to deliver world-class research and teaching, extend the University’s international influence, and enrich the student experience.  We understand the importance of continued professional development for all Library staff in order to achieve this, and provide programmes of local opportunities, and support involvement in appropriate external activities.

For informal enquiries about the role please contact Hannah South, Head of Library Academic Services (lishls@bath.ac.uk), David Stacey, Faculty Librarian, Engineering & Design (ds330@bath.ac.uk) or Katrin Roberts and Emma Stuart Edwards, Faculty Librarians for Humanities & Social Sciences (hsslibrarian@bath.ac.uk).
