Are you committed to widening participation? Do you have experience in online learning and skills development for students? We are seeking to appoint a hardworking and multifaceted individual with the skills and experience to lead, manage and deliver projects, activities and resources, to support us in promoting and embedding skills provision to prospective students. We have established this role to contribute to the implementation of the University’s Access & Participation Plan, with a specific focus on widening participation and transition to higher education.

About you

You will already be working in the higher education sector in a role that encompasses some skills elements for students such as:

  • academic skills 
  • languages 
  • employability
  • personal development

A learning and teaching background, particularly in the area of widening participation, will ensure you are well placed to fulfil this role. You will be able to demonstrate:

  • outstanding communication skills
  • excellent partnership skills
  • high levels of digital literacy
  • successful project management skills

You will have the relevant skills to work effectively across different teams and will be actively engaged in:

  • developing online skills taster sessions
  • designing workshop materials
  • delivering promotional materials
  • providing training and related tools

Although you will be based primarily in a dynamic Skills Centre, comprising 60 staff, delivering a wide range of academic and language skills to the University of Bath’s student community, you will work closely with many other teams. Some travel within the UK will be required.
