The Teaching & Research Support Technician (Chemistry) is a key position within the Faculty’s teaching and research endeavours in Chemistry. You will be responsible for the day to day functioning of the Chemistry teaching lab and will assist in delivering safety and compliance issues across the teaching labs and in the chemistry research labs in an adjacent building.

You will provide for the routine maintenance, operation and demonstration of various analytical instruments used in the delivery of our teaching and research activities. The successful candidate will also provide more general support for other chemistry related activities within the Department and elsewhere. You will be working with undergraduate, postgraduate students, academic and research staff to lead and provide first-class support

The Department has an expanding and varied portfolio, providing a very stimulating environment for its teaching and research areas.

The ideal candidate will have experience in technical support within a chemistry teaching and/or research environment. An interest or knowledge synthetic chemistry or physical chemistry in teaching would be an advantage.

Candidates with a Chemistry background, at degree level are encouraged to apply. Effective time-management skills and a flexible approach to work are essential.
