An excellent opportunity has arisen to work within the Post-Award Team, part of Research and Innovation Services, to provide professional accounting support across a portfolio of funded research projects.

Research & Innovation Services (RIS) is responsible for advancing the University's international reputation for research and knowledge transfer by:

  • increasing the volume of externally funded research
  • improving grant application success rates
  • enhancing strategic and operational support to academic departments

RIS is the primary conduit for industry, business and other funders to access the research expertise and knowledge of the University of Bath.

The role includes post-award administration of all research grants and research-related contracts. As part of the Post-Award team, the role contributes to the financial administration of research funds within individual projects supported by a wide variety of organisations. This may include liaison with external funding bodies and project coordinators, providing advice and support to academic Principal Investigators (PIs) on project funding matters, and liaising with faculty finance and other central departments such as Finance and Human Resources.

If you are fully or part AAT qualified (or equivalent qualification) and have experience of working in a financial accounting role; or if you are looking to further develop your research accounting skills, this could be a good role to apply any experience gained in supporting research or accounting projects elsewhere.

This is a fixed term position to cover maternity with an expected duration until July 2020 or the early return of the post holder. This post is part time (29.2 hours; 0.8 FTE) with flexibility in how the hours may be spread.
