Engineering Operations Manager

We’re seeking an experienced Operations Manager, with experience in engineering, to lead Designability’s engineering operations and production team. This role is a fantastic opportunity to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team, supporting the end-to-end production process and continuous improvement for our life changing products.

Purpose of the Role

This role will lead Designability’s engineering operations and production team, supporting the end-to-end production process and continuous improvement for our innovative and life changing products.
 
 You will be working closely with the Director of Programmes to ensure all products are manufactured to the highest standards of quality and in line with regulatory requirements. This role will lead the operations and production teams to ensure products and all associated processes are delivered efficiently, in line with the schedule and within budget.

You will have:

  • Experience in operations management, including monitoring performance, KPIs and reporting.
  • Experience of manufacturing techniques, including selection of suitable processes.
  • Proven experience in a people management role, within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of supporting, managing and developing a diverse workforce, recognising and valuing their different backgrounds, their individual and specific needs.
  • Experience of developing others through CPD/PDP.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and financial performance.
  • Experience of managing and delivering change.
  • Knowledge of effective supply chain and supplier management.
  • Robust design knowledge, such as tolerancing and design for assembly.
  • Working knowledge of stock management systems.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office suite of products.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and inspire a team.
  • Self-motivation, with a forward-thinking, solution-focused approach.
  • Excellent communication strategies and skills able to apply and adapt to diverse, complex and challenging situations.
