Between June and September, the ahs department at the University becomes Bath’s biggest hotel with over 3000 rooms. The following role relates to providing our guests and conferences with the very best the University of Bath can offer.

You’ll be the first and last face that our guests see so it’s up to you to leave a lasting impression.  Receptionists with Accommodation and Hospitality provides reception services for guests and contributes to an overall exceptional experience from check-in through to check-out and complete financial and reservation procedures as required.

Main duties and responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Provide a welcoming and outstanding experience for all conference and commercial guests staying on campus.
  • Taking telephone calls, and actively selling university guest accommodation, inputting of bookings using the hotel management system.
  • Ensure a smooth check in/check out process to all guests.
  • Receive and process payments, including till operation, cashing up and reconciliation following departmental financial procedures.
  • Ensure that any guests with outstanding balances are professionally communicated with so balances are cleared.
  • Manage the key checks and control the security of keys for accommodation rooms.
  • Ensure access keys are prepared in time for check in of guests and/or conferences.

Start Dates: Ideally starting date 11th June 2018  until 30th September 2018.

Rate of pay: £8.28 per hour (CW2) plus holiday pay

Hours of work: Reception is open 7 days a week 7am to midnight. You will work 5 days out of 7 on a rota pattern to cover the receptions.
