Paul Cunningham Appointed External Member

Will undertake the responsibilities of members of governing bodies as set out in the CUC Guide for Members of Higher Education Governing Bodies in the UK.

Career

After a decade teaching IT and Business Studies in Further Education, Paul moved into the world of audit where he has been the manager for IT and Data Analytics for Audit Wales since 2004 leading a team who provide invaluable assurance and insight to each of AW's clients. His professional goal has always been to enhance the potential of computer science and data through innovation, communication and genuine commitment.

Paul has lectured and collaborated extensively on many aspects of his work in the UK and abroad, he chairs the Wales Fraud Forum and has a keen interest in promoting fairness and equality, both in the workplace and as part of his work in data analytics and machine learning.

He has BSc in Mathematics, an MSc in Computer Science and is a Fellow of the British Computer Society.

Paul lives in South Wales with his wife, they have 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
