Mr Gavin Maggs Director of Development and Alumni
He is directly responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the University's philanthropic fundraising and alumni relations activities.
Gavin Maggs was appointed the Director of Development and Alumni Relations in November 2011; he had served as the Deputy Director since 2008. He is directly responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the University's philanthropic fundraising and alumni relations activities.
A graduate of the University of Oxford with an MA in Literae Humaniores, he began his fundraising career at his college, Lincoln, then joined the University of Warwick to lead the development and alumni relations activities of the then recently established Warwick Medical School.
Gavin is a keen sportsman, although in recent years his young family (and age) have turned him from practitioner into more of an armchair fan - he now takes particular pleasure in his role of youth coach at Oldfield RFC.
The launch of the University's £66m Look Further fundraising campaign in June 2015, with the landmark £5m Milner gift, was the start of a new phase of Development in Bath; the 50th anniversary celebrations, global, inclusive and exclusive, allowed the University to harness the enthusiasm and affection alumni and friends have for us, as well as march confidently to our campaign goal this year.
