Professor Marianne Ellis Head of Department of Chemical Engineering
She is responsible for the teaching, research and strategic planning of the Department of Chemical Engineering.
Role
Marianne was appointed Head of Department in August 2019. For the previous three years, she was Associate Dean (Learning and Teaching) and oversaw strategies for learning, teaching and student experience for undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses in the Faculty.
She is a Professor of Bioprocess & Tissue Engineering in the Department of Chemical Engineering. Her research is focused on bioprocess design for tissue engineering applications, applied to the scale up of zero-carbon non-animal technologies for cellular agriculture and in vitro models, as well as cell therapies.
