Role

Isabella started coaching in 2014, attracted to the coaching concept that everyone has the correct answers to reach their goals, provided they are asked the right questions. Isabella has a teaching background and approaches her coachees with an inquisitive mind, hoping to assist to make a difference in their lives.

Career

Isabella is the Head of Foreign Languages. She is responsible for the strategic development of non-specialist foreign language learning at the University of Bath. This includes the management of the Institution-Wide Language Programme, which provides language modules to over 2,500 students across the University, the Community Courses programme, which provides foreign language courses to members of staff and members of the general public, and the Language Zone, an area for independent and small group language study located in the library. She also contributes to the University’s internationalisation agenda, by chairing a cross-departmental Intercultural Competence Group.

After having worked as marketing executive for Tourism Ireland, Isabella joined the University of Bath in 2005 as a Teaching Fellow in Italian Studies and started working in the Foreign Languages Centre in 2008 as Course Director for the Institution-Wide Language Programme. Isabella holds a BA in International Politics and International Business from the University of Trieste, a BA in European Studies from University College Dublin and she is currently undertaking an MA in Education (Leadership and Management) at the University of Bath. Isabella is currently researching Intercultural Competence in UK Higher Education in the context of ‘Internationalisation at home’.
