Dr Alison Evans Head of Pre-Award and Contracts
Responsible for overseeing support for research funding applications and awards and for making sure they meet funder and University requirements.
Alison was appointed Head of Pre-Award and Contracts in 2016.
The main purpose of her role is to manage the delivery of research applications and contracts across a range of funders. This helps grow the University’s Research and Innovation portfolio in line with strategic aims.
Within this remit Alison takes responsibility for:
- advising academics on the preparation of their research proposals, focusing on finance and compliance with internal and external procedures
- reviewing, negotiating and delivering research contracts with an acceptable level of risk to the University
Alison is also responsible for managing the electronic Proposal to Award Management (PAM) system.
Alison joined the University in 1998. She has worked in many research support roles, including Research Development Manager, Technology Transfer Manager and Head of Research Project Management. During this time, she has established a wide network of internal and external contacts.
Before coming to Bath, Alison worked at the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), the British Science Association and the Royal Society.
Alison has a degree in Zoology and a PhD in Neuroscience, both from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine. She holds Prince2 Project Management Foundation and Practitioner certificates and the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 5 Award.
