Sarah Sempala-Ntege IAAPS Communications Lead

Sarah is responsible for the IAAPS communications strategy, ensuring all our stakeholders are kept updated on project developments and its launch in Autumn 2020

Role

As Communications Lead, Sarah has designed and is implementing a multi-channel communications strategy targeting all key stakeholders involved with IAAPS, from commercial partners to political funders and local communities. Communications activities will ensure all stakeholders are kept updated with project developments and opportunities to work with the IAAPS team once the new Research and Innovation facility becomes operational in Autumn 2020.

Sarah has 20 years' communications experience working within global commercial organisations and higher education. Sarah's experience encompasses strategic communications planning, budget forecasting and management and the implementation of communication strategies across multiple channels, both in the UK and Internationally. Prior to joining the University of Bath, Sarah worked at Eurostar International leading a range of strategic projects including the planning and implementation of UK marketing activities for Eurostar's historic relocation to St Pancras and the launch of High Speed 1 in the UK. Additionally, Sarah led and implemented Eurostar's global brand relaunch across all touchpoints. Prior to her current role, Sarah headed up the Marketing Team in the Faculty of Engineering and Design, developing international marketing strategies to contribute to the achievement of student recruitment targets as well as raising the profile of the Faculty's extensive research portfolio.

Career

Sarah has a strong track record of developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies that deliver against strategic organisational targets. The communications activity for Eurostar's relocation to St Pancras ensured optimal levels of awareness and engagement on day of launch, and a significant uplift in demand for travel from a much wider catchment post launch. Whilst working within the Marketing Team in the Faculty of Engineering and Design, marketing plans delivered extended reach of activities across core international target markets and contributed to a significant uplift in student numbers across both Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses.

BA (Hons) in French and Spanish from the University of Exeter. Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing since 2014.
