Jon Hassan IAAPS Test Facility Manager

Jon is responsible for maintaining a schedule of operation that ensures effective utilisation of the facilities and technical staff at IAAPS

Role

In his role, Jon manages the IAAPS Test Facilities which currently include 4WD chassis dynamometer with full emission bench measurements, several engine test cells, and some specific test rigs. He is responsible for the scheduling of activities and managing resources such as technical staff and equipment.

Career

Jon's previous employment includes 10 years at Jaguar Land Rover in the Engine Development Department, followed by 29 years at Zytek (now Continental Engineering Services). Throughout his career he has been involved in PowerTrain System Development and Testing. He's also covered Engine testing, Engine management System development, vehicle emission/OBD calibration and in territory testing, before moving into hybrid and electric vehicle system development. This also included overseeing an Electric Drivetrain dyno test facilities, and a comprehensive development vehicle workshop in his last role at Zytek.

Education

Mechanical Engineering degree obtained at University of Bath, as part of a sponsored sandwich course with Jaguar, followed by a Masters degree from Leeds University in Combustion & Energy.
