Laura Zuluaga Cardona Industrial Partnerships Manager

Providing advice and guidance to academics on business-led research.


Laura is responsible for establishing and managing partnerships between academics and companies. Her role includes:

  • facilitating relationships with industry
  • identifying and promoting funding opportunities, including Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) and other Innovate UK schemes
  • supporting the process of securing industry funding
  • overseeing industry partnerships when funded

Laura joined Bath in 2017 from the University of Exeter, where she developed and delivered an international research project in collaboration with industry partners.

She has experience of the UK and International funding landscape for research and innovation projects involving academics, large companies and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Laura brings several years of experience in the industrial sector with her engineering background, including roles in the area of research and development, operations and supply chain management.


Laura holds a BEng in Chemical Engineering and MSc in Chemical Engineering, with a focus on biotechnology and bioprocess, from Universidad Nacional de Colombia. She also holds an MBA from the University of Exeter with an emphasis in sustainability and the circular economy.
