Kirsten Brown Industry Engagement & Employability Manager (Engineering & Design)

Kirsten focuses on partnership and business engagement, working closely with postgraduate students to develop their employability skills.

Role

Kirsten has a broad remit including overseeing all employability and business engagement activity for the Faculty of Engineering & Design. With a specific focus on providing our postgraduate students with a portfolio of global employability skills, ensuring that they are fully prepared to secure a graduate job on completion of their course, Kirsten is developing talent pipelines with notable engineering, management and design organisations in the UK and oversees who are seeking our students to enhance their workforce.

Career

Kirsten has had a varied career, including project management, retail management as well as starting her career in HE whilst studying at Oxford Brookes University. Kirsten was initially employed as a Placement Officer for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, specifically working with a large cohort of Economics students each year. She then moved on to lead the team as their Placement Manager prior to changing roles in February 2018.

Education

Kirsten has a BSc (Hons) degree in Anthropology & European Societies and Culture and an ILM Level 5 in Strategic Management and Leadership.
