Dörte Stevenson Interim Director of International Relations

Responsible for the strategic leadership of the International Relations Office.

Career

Dörte has worked in, and with, the Higher Education sector for 30 years and has a successful track record of creating global institutional partnerships, staff and students’ international experiences, transnational education, institutional internationalisation strategies, policy and marketing and communications in Higher Education.
As an independent consultant, Dörte’s clients included organisations, universities, and private companies in the UK and abroad. Prior to that, Dörte held the role of Assistant Director Global Engagement at the University of Sheffield where she worked for 17 years. She led on building strategic international partnership development and collaborations for the institution. More widely, she supported the implementation of the University’s Internationalisation Strategy and advised faculties on their international plans and activities. Dörte started her Higher Education career at the University of Bath’s School of Management.

Education

Dörte studied at the University of Tübingen, Germany, and at Durham University, from where she holds an M.A. She speaks fluent English and German.
