Caroline Thomas Marketing Officer

Caroline is the Marketing Officer in Widening Participation. She develops and implements marketing strategies for outreach activities like On Track to Bath.

Role

Caroline plans and organises integrated student recruitment campaigns for the more substantive outreach activities such as On Track to Bath and the Year 12 Summer Schools. This includes pre-campaign, campaign and post-campaign activity and entails working collaboratively with the outreach and administrative team and IDPS on the agreed on and offline promotional items from concept to distribution any follow-up activity where necessary such as outbound telephony.

She is also responsible for maintaining the Widening Participation (WP) web pages including any updates resulting from the recruitment campaigns and oversees the social media activity including day-to-day, pre and post event activity.

Career

Caroline has worked for the University since 2009 firstly for the Division for Lifelong Learning and from inception Widening Participation. Prior to joining the University, she has worked for a number of blue-chip organisations in marketing positions within financial and professional services and the Further Education industries.

A marketing professional, Caroline draws upon over twenty years’ marketing experience which has exposed her to a wide range of marketing activities and projects. Her experience includes collating material for prospectuses, writing external press releases and internal articles, producing posters and direct mail covering letters and inserts, stands for events/exhibitions and adverts for off-the-page advertising, posters, bus advertising and video production.
