Kirsten Brown Postgraduate Partnerships Manager (Engineering & Design)

Kirsten focuses on partnership and business engagement, working closely with postgraduate students to develop their employability skills.

Role

Kirsten has a broad remit with a specific focus on providing our postgraduate students with a portfolio of global employability skills, ensuring that they are fully prepared to secure a graduate job on completion of their course. A key component of this is to work with our UK and international students developing talent pipelines with notable engineering, management and design organisations who are seeking our students to enhance their workforce. Kirsten also sources internships for postgraduate students in a variety of sectors and participates in business engagement activity for the faculty. Her core focus is on employability initiatives, working collaboratively with the Undergraduate Placements Manager and the wider university.

Career

Kirsten has had a varied career, including project management, retail management as well as starting her career in HE whilst studying at Oxford Brookes University. Kirsten was initially employed as a Placement Officer for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, specifically working with a large cohort of Economics students each year. She then moved on to lead the team as their Placement Manager prior to changing roles in February 2018.

Education

Kirsten has a BSc (Hons) degree in Anthropology & European Societies and Culture and an ILM Level 5 in Strategic Management and Leadership.
