Ana Amelia Alvarez Serra Research Development Manager

Ana supports academics in their research ambitions through expert funding advice, strategic planning and developing high-quality funding proposals.

Role

Ana is the Research Development Manager for engineering and computer sciences in Research and Innovation Services (RIS) with a special focus on the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

As part of the Research Grant Development team, Ana facilitates workshops and provides skills training for improving grant proposal outcomes.

Career

Prior to joining, Bath, Ana worked in Brazil as the Head of Research and Partnership Development at the LSE’s Latin America and Caribbean Centre. Ana has over 10 years’ experience in the Higher Education sector on all aspects of research funding, collaboration and management. She has worked with academics and industry across a wide range of subject areas.

Education

Ana has a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, in Brazil. She completed her master’s degree in International Cooperation for Development at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in Spain.
